Join our team for a rewarding career with opportunities for professional growth and development.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Description</strong></p><p>We are seeking a dedicated Staff Tax Accountant with public accounting experience to join our team for a full-time, on-site position in New City, NY. The role offers a strong blend of tax preparation, planning and client interaction, giving the opportunity to build well-rounded experience while working closely with firm leadership and clients. Time demands during tax season will be full time with overtime and weekends required and a much more flexible schedule during the off season.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare individual and business tax returns</li><li>Assist with tax projections and planning for small business clients</li><li>Review QuickBooks files for accuracy and prepare/post adjustments</li><li>Work directly with clients and provide small business consulting support</li><li>Manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines</li><li>Assist with IRS and state notices</li><li>Collaborate with team members while maintaining an independent workflow</li><li>Perform tax research and resolve client specific issues</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with preparing individual & business tax returns</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines</li><li>Excellent communication skills and client-facing ability</li><li>Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, especially QuickBooks & Excel</li><li>Experience with tax software, Ultra Tax preferred</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting</li><li> CPA certification or progress toward certification</li><li>2-3 years of recent public accounting experience</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li>Flexible hours during the off season</li><li>Generous vacation time</li><li>401(k) plan</li><li>Bonus potential</li></ul>
