This intern will work with one of several different departments across the organization and focus on identifying, testing, and prototyping practical ways to apply AI to real business problems. This remote position is open to individuals who live in, or are open to relocating to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. This opportunity does not require travel, including to our headquarters in Melville, NY, however you’re welcome to work on-site anytime – our doors are always open. Role Type: Co-Op Intern Location: Remote Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET Pay: $27.60 per hour Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Learn how teams across the business work (Customer Service, Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, Product, etc.) and identify high-impact opportunities where AI can help </li> <li>Partner with stakeholders to define problems clearly, map workflows, and estimate potential value and effort </li> <li>Research and evaluate AI tools and approaches (LLMs, copilots, workflow automation, search/RAG, lightweight agents) for business use cases </li> <li>Build and test small prototypes or proofs of concept (e.g.: prompt workflows, chat-based assistants, automation scripts, internal knowledge helpers) </li> <li>Create clear documentation and playbooks so others can reuse what you build (prompt guides, best practices, example workflows) </li> <li>Help run simple enablement activities like demos, office hours, training sessions, and collecting feedback </li> <li>Track results and learnings, including what worked, what did not, and recommendations for next steps </li> <li>Follow responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, and quality standards </li> </ul> Requirements: <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree as a rising Junior or Senior (graduating in 2027 or 2028), pursuing a Master’s degree, or an upcoming graduate (May 2026) </li> <li>Interest in AI and curiosity about how it can be applied to improve real workflows </li> <li>Comfortable learning new tools quickly and experimenting in a structured way </li> <li>Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language </li> <li>Organized and self-directed, with attention to detail and follow-through </li> <li>Analytical mindset, able to break down problems and propose practical solutions </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul> <li>Prior hands-on experience leveraging AI through an internship, co-op, research project, academic lab, or similar environment </li> <li>Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, or automation tools (Zapier, Make, Apps Script, etc.) </li> <li>Familiarity with LLMs and prompt design, including evaluating output quality </li> <li>Experience building lightweight prototypes (spreadsheets, dashboards, scripts, basic apps) </li> <li>Interest in product thinking, process improvement, and change management </li> </ul> What you’ll gain: <ul> <li>Hands-on experience applying AI to real business problems, from discovery to prototype </li> <li>Mentorship from Product and cross-functional partners </li> <li>A portfolio of experiments and prototypes you can talk about in future interviews </li> </ul> Why work with us: <ul> <li>Experience our culture firsthand – We value generosity and believe that work should be both fulfilling and engaging.
